digital designs voice optimized 6.5's

my question is digital designs have some "voice optimized" speakers. are they essentially a 6.5 speaker with added bass? Just wondering any info would help thanks!

actually if my memory serves correctly, they may have slightly less bass. (could be wrong tho, DD stuff tends to wail in that department) they went with an accordian surround, rather than the now more common rolled rubber or foam route. havent played with them too extensively yet, but i am eagerly waiting my chance.

From my understanding the VO equiment is a more PA style design, with low impedence coils to suit car audio usage. I believe they're more efficient and get louder with less power than traditional car audio gear; at the expense of some power handling and some bass output.

I've seen them used in a PA bin style setup, with a pair of 15" DD subwoofers, for a party bus. Insanely loud!
