Fair enough.

It's more impressive when you get loud with crap to!

I should stop looking at stuff and keep my eye on the prize.. ;). as much as I want these Infinity Kappa's, ADS amp, valve pre-amp and Zapco line driver :P thats $300 I need to spend elsewhere.

2011 Shopping list:

Subs: Something proven in Street classes like DD, Kicker or Atomic. Will look at Sundown if they're in the price bracket.
2x 10"s (gotta be 3" coils) or 3x 8"s.

Amp: 3Kw or more. Mono. $400 or less. Likely used. Gotta do 1ohm or 0.5ohm burps.
AudioPipe 3k, Hifonics Colossus, Crunch GP3k, Kicker 2.5k are likely candidates. What else is there thats efficient and the right price ?

Battery: sticking to the BT.. Even getting trade on a HC2000 is $400+, I'm simply not prepared to fork out that much money for a battery I'll use 3 times a year. Should perform just fine with limited amp power anyway.

Cable: Will run 3 more, and add another earth in the back. 4 of each should be enough, prolly the cheapest upgrade I can do anyways. Will add buzzbars if the amp only has 1 set of inputs.

SD: The shop is bringing in FatMat thats 4mm thick, direct from China. I'm onboard with that ! It'll be about $200 for enough of the shit to do the whole CRX :D

The box will be done once the subs are decided.

Gunna go see if the loots been paid for the amp. If it has, buying a TL :P

Update: Found some DD3510's locally.. contacted the seller to find out the coil config. Guess if I get into these, I'll be able to pick an amp.
I'm gunna get CF dustcaps.. CF looks sexy and DD cones dont. Might get a little DecibelCar.com & logo onto them as well, that'll be fun !

That old red tops still in the car (for daily). Charges up to 14V, then discharges to 11.9V over a half hour period. I think its almost done.. survived 2 Canadian winters, its served its time.

Also think I found my port: www.audible-engineer...

BUDGET UPDATE:
Amps FS +$400 MX-12 FS +$150

Anyway, $1149 - 550 = $599 :P

We can end the sub debate now. !!! Got 3510's D2, 2004 models with a bumped back plate from someones shed. $180 each ! $360 the pair. They were filthy (check the pix.. dirty left, clean right)

So the budget is now $959. So another roll of welders cable & amp. :P

WHOOPS. Accidentally trashed this thread and didnt even notice :P

Amp will be a *new* Digital Designs M3a, which has the LV power supply from the Z2-LV. IE. its designed to give more power at 14V or less. DD claims +400WRMS @ any given load/voltage over the previous model M3.
So it should return over 3000WRMS @ 1ohm on 14V. I'd expect 2600WRMS @ 1ohm @ 12V.

You should get the black heatsink version because they are sexy!
8 years 3 months ago #76 by Tezzating
Black is the new silver according to DD.. TBH, I've never liked the look of their amps :P.
I'd go the M4, but those are like 2x $$. Doesnt make 2x the power tho, and is a lot bigger to fit the car so *shrugs*

Guess who forgot about the TL he was watching on eBay and missed it by 2 hours :( duel lane for $500 *rolls eyes*
