I now have 8,000wrms worth of amps on laybuy.

As the forester is no longer my daily ride either, I'll be ripping the rear seats out after rego. Moving the battery (possibly adding another one) and making annother box for the DD 15's.

Putting myself is Super Street classes but not running a real wall should be fun!

You bought what

Two amplifiers that have a combined total power output of 8,000wrms.

What can I say, I got them for cheap!
7 years 9 months ago #24 by amcinstaller
so its a surprise what amps they are then??
7 years 9 months ago - 7 years 9 months ago #25 by Dylan
Nope, not a supprise.

They are US Audio Boncrushers, AKA Fusion 4000d, AKA Epslion surfboards.

Nothing to special, but I got 'em for cheap, and can drop them below 1ohm for SPL.

One per DD 9515 should see some decent excursion from them finally!

2400wrms really isn't enough for a 9500 driver when going for SPL. Great for daily though.

Oh surfboards. Used or new ? I recall them being pretty thirsty amps, but I guess you're running a rack for them ?

Damn was looking forward to you saying 40,000 WRMS and having to hock ya backside. 8,000 and laybuy is OK :P

Hahaha.

I wish I could afford 40KW.
7 years 9 months ago - 7 years 9 months ago #32 by Tezzating
Pfft you can afford it.. 10 of these bad boys.. cgi.ebay.ca/?item=39...

Says right there.. Power Accoustik Crypt 4000W MAX. MAX ! $1770 + freight and you've got 40,000W right there. Why would you bother spending money on anything else ? ;)

Ignore the 4x 30A fuses... :smoke: *according to my McMaths, 4000W from that amp = ~400% efficiency*

Seriously considering it.

cos thats some pretty custom work right there :P. Wonder how old John's doing these days ? havent heard from him for years.. last I knew he worked at a bank.

Anyways.. those, some batteries and a nowall with 9515 should work pretty good. I'd do carbon caps, with purple DD logo's

spl tape should solve any brcing issues you find with the cardboard, also, your carbon dustcaps with purple DD should be at least 12 inches in diameter

No carbon caps for me, I'm not a baller like Steve. :P
