Autobarn Maitland - BIG Power Commodores!

6 years 2 days ago - 6 years 2 days ago #1 by Andy
I thought i would post up a few pics of these monsters on show at the Autobarn Grand Opening.

I know very little about the cars, although i have been told the blue VB Commodore has in excess of 1100rwhp with only 12 psi of boost, the engine and turbo have been built to run over 40 psi should it should get interesting power wise! Im fairly sure the engine is a Dart block, bored to around 6L.

Thats one hell of a snail on the white one. Looks like a 304 ? Whats in the blue on; looks like a small block Chevy ?

How much power in the VL Calais ? Those RB30's make big power without much work

Yeah i dont have specifics unfortunately.....i will find out though.

The blue one is using the Dart block, 6.0L capacity. It has a wild cam, cant even hear the turbo come on boost!

The VL Calais is making big numbers, once again not too sure on exact figures......i think it ran 11.1s in street trim?

All 3 engines were built from the ground up, locally. This guy is insane!

I dont think Dart does Holden engines, so I guess its an LS1/Gen3 SBC. The White VC is definitely running a fuel injected 304; probably from a VN by the looks.. thats a big assed snail on it.

I always liked VL's; shame they're so popular with a certain demographic ;)

The blue one is running a Dart block, for certain.......it was sitting on my workshop floor for 2 weeks!

Yeah VLs just had it all, good looks, interior and the turbo RB30s. Dont see many stock ones around anymore :(
