The speaker wires are much brighter than the motor they are leaning against. Especially on the top plate whete it is in shadow, but the wires are still very bright.

Nah man, they're the new Dayglo (tm) wires. The enhanced luminescence promotes active electron flow for a deep, more powerful bass transient response spectrum.

Are they directional to?

I only use directional speakerwires in my installs.

Wouldn't take that long with a motorized one. 1.5 hours max.

I think 8 in the doors is a fantastic idea

Totally agree, i had 8s in my last Commodore....they were only $25 Jaycar 8 ohm versions but i was giving them 200wrms each and it was great, almost had sub bass frequencies at a decent volume!

Infact 8-9" in doors plus 5" on the passive with tweet is the best simplest most awesome system i have ever done.
Off-course adding the processor or 3way+sub Head unit can yield further .But hey with a High-end 2way+sub HU in this config you can match it with anyone.
Look forward to Our Australian dbcar.com competitors doing a great job down there in Oz.
