Alpine Electronics Shipping New Bluetooth Headunits
TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 13, 2010 – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. today announced the shipping of two new head units with built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology. The CDE-125BT and CDE-126BT CD receivers are the first new head units to debut from Alpine’s 2011 model lineup.
The CDE-125BT and CDE-126BT are single-DIN units. Both have a front USB and 3.5 mm input for basic music playback from audio sources such as an external hard drive or thumb drive. The units are “Made for iPod® and iPhone®” and require the KCE-433iV cable to provide full, integrated control of iPod or iPhone music from the head unit (the KCE-433iV is included with the CDE-126BT, but sold separately for the CDE-125BT). Each unit has a built-in 18W RMS x 4 amplifier (at CEA-2006 power ratings). The CDE-125BT has red/blue illumination, one preout and MP3 playback via a CD or USB. The CDE-126BT has red or blue selectable illumination, two preouts and MP3/WMA/AAC playback via CD or USB. Both units are compatible with the KTP-445 head unit power pack (sold separately), which amplifies the head unit’s power output and creates tighter bass and clearer highs.
Ford® Honors KICKER® Fiesta SE with Product Excellence Award
STILLWATER, USA – KICKER® Performance Audio is proud to announce that Ford® recently honored the stunning 2011 KICKER Fiesta SE project vehicle and the KICKER Installations Team with the Ford Product Excellence Award.
The KICKER Fiesta SE can be seen on display Nov. 19-21 at Homestead-Miami Speedway during NASCAR’s series-crowning Ford Championship Weekend.
“Your excellence in building this project provides a benchmark for all Aftermarket organizations,” Brian Nottmeier wrote in the award letter. Nottmeier is the Director of Ford’s FNA Product Planning group. The letter states the “award has been created to recognize excellence in product development and total project vehicle execution.”
The KICKER Fiesta award selection was based upon a number of criteria, including new product development, appearance, brand marketability and display, among others.
KICKER’s tricked-out Fiesta SE was unveiled at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas Nov. 2 as the centerpiece of the mobile-sound legend’s booth inside the Las Vegas Convention Center’s North Hall. “The KICKER Installations Team worked feverishly to create a powerful, unique statement with the KICKER Fiesta that will make a memorable impact,” said Kevin Campbell, KICKER Global Marketing Director.

November 10, 2010 (MILWAUKEE) – Last Friday, while the rest of the SEMA exhibitors and attendees packed up and headed home, 52 drivers, their vehicles, sponsors and the entire OPTIMA Batteries team headed southwest one hour to Pahrump, Nevada, to compete in the highly-anticipated OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational presented by K&N and Magnaflow. When all was said and done, Mark Stielow and his highly-modified and beautifully designed 1969 Camaro came out on top, winning the coveted title of OPTIMA Batteries Ultimate Street Car of 2010.
OPTIMA Batteries awarded Stielow and each of the segments winners and runners-up at an awards ceremony immediately following the close of events on Saturday, November 6 at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch.

EnerSys Introduces ODYSSEY PC1220 and PC1350 Batteries
READING, Pa. – EnerSys® recently expanded its ODYSSEY® Battery product line to include the ODYSSEY® PC1220 and PC1350 batteries, available for premium European, Japanese and late-model American, automotive/LTV applications.
The ODYSSEY® PC1220 battery is comparable to BCI sizes 48 and 94R (European DIN L3), and the ODYSSEY® PC1350 battery is comparable to BCI sizes 49 and 95R (European DIN L5). While both batteries may require vehicle battery restraint modifications for installation, each battery features mounting flexibility and can be installed in virtually any position except inverted. Additionally, the ODYSSEY® PC1220 and PC1350 batteries are designed to protect against high impact shock and mechanical vibration for increased vibration resistance. They also provide an increased service life of three to 10 years.
